Nikolai Valuev is a Russian professional boxer and former two-time WBA heavyweight champion. With his 7 ft (2.13 m) height, he is one of the biggest athletes in the world. Who would've guessed if Nikolai Valuev has a very tiny wife. His spouse, Galina/Galya, is only 5' 2" (1.55 m) tall!

Not just tall, Nikolai Valuev also has over 310 pounds of weight! Because of his huge body, Valuev is nicknamed as The Beast from The East, Rock Man, The Russian Bear, Lurch, The Russian Giant, and even Shrek!

But apparently this giant has a soft heart. He met Galina in friend's birthday party in 1999. To won her heart, Valuev wrote her love poetry! They later married in 2000. The couple have two children Grisha (son) and Irina (daughter).

Maria Sharapova is Engaged to Sasha Vujacic

Tennis star Maria Sharapova reported has been engaged to Los Angeles Lakers' shooting guard, Sasha Vujacic. This happy moment happened when the Slovenian basketball player proposed to Sharapova last week at his home, on their one-year anniversary.

The couple has been together since last year, when they were spotted together at a U2 concert in Los Angeles. "We are engaged and are both really happy" said Sasha. "It was probably old school. I had to do it like a gentlemen" he added.

The Russian tennis sensation, Maria Sharapova, also reported wearing a US$ 250,000 engagement ring and looks very happy.


Sasha Vujacic (26) and Maria Sharapova (23) have not set a wedding date as of yet. The pair look really good together and we hope the engagement leads to a wedding. Although, there are some jokes wandering around the media that Sharapova (1.88 m) chose Vujacic because she was having a hard time finding a descent guy taller than her, and that's where Vujacic (2.01 m) meets the requirement.

Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees third baseman, reported to dating actress Cameron Diaz. Previously A-Rod was dating another celebrity, Kate Hudson, form May to December last year. At those time together, Kate was attending at every New York baseball game, she even went to Alex’s game practices. Apparently things just got way too fast.

Because of that, Alex Rodriguez is believed to have forbid Cameron Diaz from coming to his games, because he wants to keep things very casual with her. Momo Sissoko, former Valencia and Liverpool player, moved to Juventus on January 2008. He was born France but playing for the Mali national team. To be honest, one advantage of being a footballer is that you can dating beautiful celebs and models. You don't have to be an ace (like Zinedine Zidane or Roberto Baggio) and you don't have to be handsome (like Francesco Totti or Cristiano Ronaldo) to get a chance of having a relationship with female superstar.

Alexander Pato Marriage

RIO DE JANEIRO (July 8), AC Milan's striker, Alexander Pato married his girlfriend in a ceremony packed with celebrities and football stars.

Pato (19) married his girlfriend, Sthefany Brito, who is 3 years older, at a church in downtown Rio and held the wedding reception at the Copacabana Palace late Tuesday.

Kaka and former AC Milan player Cafu were among the players at the wedding, while several Brazilian celebrities were also among the nearly 500 guests, according to local media.

The 22-year-old Brito is a well-known soap opera actress in Brazil. She met Pato in January 2008 and since then Pato honors her by celebrating some of his goals using his hands to form a heart.

Brito is expected to live in Italy with Pato. The couple will honeymoon in Bora Bora, according to reports.

Roger Federer Married His Girlfriend

Roger Federer married his fiancee Mirka Vavrinec in his home town of Basel, Switzerland on Saturday April 11, 2009, he announced on his website, saying the couple got married "surrounded by a small group of close friends and family".

"It was a beautiful spring day and an incredibly joyous occasion," he said. The couple announced last month they are expecting their first child.

Miroslava "Mirka" Vavrinec is a former Women's Tennis Association player. They met while competing for Switzerland in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Vavrinec retired from the tour in 2002 because of a persistent foot injury and has since been working as Federer's public relations manager.

After struggling with his form last year and losing his No 1 ranking to Rafael Nadal, Federer is aiming for his sixth Wimbledon title this summer. He lost to Nadal in the Australian Open final, the year's first major.
